The Oath Reavers have sworn to carry on the 'Reaver legacy’, living the life of pirates and thieves that their founders started. Their passion for looting and chaos is only matched by their hatred for the treasonous Novus Reavers and their deceitful ways.
After the Space Reavers broke apart, many of the gang leaders were quick to purge itself of any “bloody traitors and spineless cowards” within its ranks. Gal Gebra, the most ruthless of the gang leaders, led the march against the Reaver separatists in an event that is called “The Fires of the Cossack Host”. Where Gal and the other loyal Reavers brutally took over the Ghost Cloud Habitat of the Rim, killing or driving away the other Reavers who had shown doubt in the continuation of the original Space Reavers. Gal Gebra and the others took to calling themselves Oath Reavers after clearing out the last of the “traitors”.
While Gal Gebra and his Raven Corps were the sole leaders of the Oath Reavers for some time, other members began disagreeing with Gal’s de facto leadership. Eventually, other gangs separated from him and formed their own groups. Notably, the Hive and the Heretic Wraiths came into being not too long after the events of The Fires. While they challenged the legitimacy of Gal Gebra’s rule, they still believed that raiding was the fire that keeps the Space Reaver legacy alive.
